Deputy President William Ruto on Monday took his countrywide trips across Kenya to Nyamira County where he graced to functions.
Dr Ruto fundraised for several women groups at Ekerenyo in North Mugirango before also fundraising for Bodaboda operators in Kitutu Masaba.
While a number of local leaders skipped the event, MPs Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango) and Vincent Kemosi of West Mugirango attended.
Speaking at Rigoma, Mr Kemosi warned Ruto's critics, arguing that his presidency is inevitable. He told off those opposing Dr Ruto, adding that they should be ready to quit Kenya.
"DP Ruto must be the president. He has proved that to everyone and if you don't like him, you're free to leave Kenya for another country," said Kemosi.
Mr Kemosi was elected on Ford Kenya ticket and has lately been working closely with Dr Ruto. He has been skipping Moses Wetangula's meetings.
On his part, Nyamoko, who chairs Gusii MPs Parliamentary Group, said the DP has showcased his ability to work with Abagusii community.
"We want to assure you that no matter what happens, we shall support you as a community. You have the people of Abagusii community at heart and we won't abandon you," he said.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi, Governor John Nyagarama and Senator Okong'o Mogeni all skipped the event.
