Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has taken a swipe at Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, accusing him of disrespecting former multiparty democracy fighter Kenneth Matiba.
On Wednesday, Nyoro claimed that he is the present day Matiba, arguing that the kind of tribulations he's undergoing are similar to those of Matiba.
On Monday night, the first time legislator was temporarily arrested for allegedly inciting youths to disrupt a function in Murang'a on Sunday.
However, on Tuesday, police released him unconditionally, a move that has sparked condemnation across the country over police harassment.
But Bosire believes that Nyoro is not anywhere near Matiba, adding that the Kiharu MP should apologise to Kenyans for the statement.
"He can't be Matiba. Matiba was an icon who did not know tribe and fight for everyone. He had an ideology and he succeeded fulfilling the mission.
"This other guy, has even confessed being a sycophant. He is often fighting Raila Odinga, who fought for freedom alongside Matiba. He should apologise," he said on phone.
Mr Bosire was also locked in 2016 over alleged incitement. The ruling on the case is due Monday next week. It was postponed this last Monday.
Matiba served as minister in Moi and Jomo Kenyatta governments before he quit to join opposition. He died last year and was cremated after a burial function in Kiharu.
