Speaking on Wednesday, he decried runaway provision of misleading information by the media houses, including repeatedly spreading fake news about ODM and its leader Raila Odinga.

Sifuna further accused the media of being stubborn and unapologetic even after being caught in the wrong, only days after he lashed out at the Daily Nation over similar claims.

"We are having an outbreak of fake news and the ones writing them are not ready to be corrected (Kumekuwa na mkurupuko wa fake news na wale wanaandika hawataki kukosolewa)," he said on Radio Citizen's 'Mjadala Wa Citizen'.

He cited a recent incident where one of the leading dailies claimed in its headline that Raila had declared his 2022 presidential bid and readiness to face Deputy President William Ruto.

The former Nairobi senatorial aspirant said that consequently, Kenyans should no longer believe everything being said by the papers, especially regarding the Orange party.

"The other day I saw them saying that Tuju (Raphael) has become a close advisor of Baba (Raila). Then the author too was on Twitter claiming to be suprised by the report. (Juzi nimeona wamesema eti Tuju amekuwa mshauri mkubwa wa Baba, alafu mwenye kuandika pia anakuja twitter kushangaa)," he notedd.

Raila had also threatened to sue the Daily Nation over the reports, which came only weeks after it listed him among politicians plotting to fight the Punguza Mizigo bill.
