Political analyst Professor Herman Manyora has said that the isolation from Western Kenya politicians will push Amani National Congress ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi into rallying behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) push.
Currently, the former Vice President has not been keen on speaking on the issue, saying that he remains unaware of its intentions, having jot been involved in its formation.
But Manyora now says that majority of Western Kenya leaders have hinted at rallying behind the initiative, which will with time leave Mudavadi with no other option but to jump on board.
"Mudavadi is not quite clear on where he stands but the moment he begins to see that there is an onslaught in Western Province, that all the big people are fighting the BBI war, I can see Mudavadi smelling something and seeing sense in joining the BBI," he said on Saturday.
Speaking on his Take It or Leave It channel, he observed that the region is already behind the BBI under the leadership of Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
He added that the moment Mudavadi joins the likes of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia), Cleophas Malala (Kakamega Senator) and George Khaniri (Vihiga) the job will be done in the region.
"When he (Mudavadi) joins, Western will be locked for BBI," he added, noting that this will only leave out few persons like former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
Being an ally of Deputy President William Ruto, who is said to be fighting the BBI, Khalwale is expected to reject the President Uhuey Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga-led push.
