Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has lashed out at his nominated counterpart Maina Kamanda over claims of wrecking the ruling Jubilee Party from within.
This comes amid a widening rift between the two factions of the party; the pro-Deputy President William Ruto, Tangatanga team and the rival Kieleweke faction.
On Wednesday, Ngunjiri claimed that Kamanda of the Kieleweke side has been pleading with MPs in Parliament to accompany him to such functions with a promise of goodies.
He claimed that the MP had been urging influential MPs in the house to arrange for him to have a group for the purpose, promising to have their people employed in exchange.
"Kamanda has been going around parliament telling people to give him three people to go fight the DP, saying that he will have their people employed as payment (Kamanda amekuwa akitembea bunge akisema nipe watu watatu tupige Ruto alafu nitakuandikishia watu wako kazi)," he said.
The MP who has since declared his support for the DP made the remarks during an interview on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Taifa on Wednesday morning.
About Kamanda's recent clash with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro at the Gitui Catholic Church in Kiharu, Ngunjiri said that the incident was pre-planned and Nyoro had been warned.
He claimed that the elderly MP deliberately went to Kiharu to implement his threat, after earlier warning Nyoro that he would deal with him.
"About the matter involving Nyoro, Kamanda had told him in Parliament that he would deal with him (Hata ile mambo ya Nyoro, Kamanda alimwambia kwa bUnge wewe utaniona)," he added.
The clash later resulted in the arrest of Nyoro, over claims of assaulting a police officer and later released without being charged.
