Grief and sorrow was written in everyone's face as they mourned the death of two. Speaker after speaker eulogised the two terming their death a big blow to the family of John Wambua.

Wambua's tribute was read by a family member named Jared Ndero.

"One thing that attracted me to Mariam during our courtship period 12 years ago was her kindness and Christian values. When she agreed to marry me twelve years ago, I felt I was the luckiest man in the whole world. One day we shall meet," said Wambua.

He reminisced how they had a neat family together full of laughter now broken by the hand of death, adding that his daughter always brought joy to the family.

"Daughters are a special kind of joy and Amanda brought such joy into our life," he said.

Wambua thanked Kenyans for their support, and prayers during the trying moment when the bodies of his wife and daughter were still in the sea.

"To people from all walks of life some of whom i will never meet but showed their support through generous giving, words of encouragement and prayer, I will forever be grateful," said Wambua.
