Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has published contents he claims are part of the alleged Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Khalwale who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto hinted on what could be the details of the BBI report which has been doing rounds on Social Media.
“So some people think that they can force onto others – 14 additional regional governments – a powerful prime minister with 2 deputies – single-seven-term president with 2 deputies – scrap women MPs – reduce wards – & reduce constituencies! Bring the referendum on,” said Khalwale in the tweet.
However, the 12-member BBI task-force, commonly referred to us 'handshake team' has said the report doing rounds on social media is fake.
Lead by Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, the team insisted that they didn't publish the report.
This team was set up by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga to collect views from Kenyans on various issues relating to the fight against corruption, security, national ethos and devolution among others.
So far, the team has visited 39 counties, and they will be expected to wind up their countrywide tour by October.
At the end of the exercise, the team will present a report to the Head of State and the AU Representative.
