Area MP Sylvanus Osoro while addressing residents of Nyabigege area in Tabaka ward on Monday urged parents to be responsible all through the festive season.

"I want to urge parents across the constituency to be good role models during this season when their children are at home for the December holiday. It is advisable that parents should guide their children well on matters life to avoid cases where young schoolgirls are impregnated," he stated.

Osoro maintained that he is a product of those people who were born and raised in a poor background adding that parents are to blame for their children's bad behaviour.

The first-term MP argued that school-going children across the constituency should not be allowed to attend disco matangas at night.

"Teenage boys and girls should be guided accordingly during the long holiday. Entertainment joints and night functions should be a no-go-zone for young boys and girls. Local administrators with the help of police officers should ensure no teenagers are attending night functions," said Osoro.

The MP promised that he will continue allocating CDF funds to needy and bright learners in the constituency.
