Kisumu All Stars is one of the 18 teams getting ready to take part in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) 2019/20 season after being promoted from the National Super League (NSL) last season.
The season kicks off this weekend, with All Stars Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nicholas Ochieng indicating that their target is to end the season among the first ten teams.
“We are capable. We can’t say we are going for number one, but we shall be aiming for at least top ten,” said Ochieng in an interview with NTV Sport.
On his part, Head Coach Henry Omino said they are going to give a good account of themselves in the league.
“The region is going to be proud of the team because we are going to give a good account of ourselves. It is the results that matter and the way we have trained, I have seen them go through the paces. Instructions that I have been giving have been followed,” said the veteran tactician.
The former Western Stima coach was handed a one-year deal with the Kisumu County sponsored side, renewable depending on the team’s performance.
Kisumu All Stars will kick off the league campaign with Ulinzi Stars at the Moi Stadium on Saturday.
