Ageyo was among other panellists discussing Msando's murder. He was murdered under unclear circumstances believed to be tied to the contentious August 8, 2017 polls.

Ageyo urged the government to explain to Kenyans what happened to Msando to avoid scenarios where Kenyans blame the government for his death.

"The government that is in place right now, which many people say was a beneficiary from that election. And so it is in their best interest to demonstrate to the country, one if this gentleman was not killed because of an election, why don't we get the people that killed him and explain to the country actually what happened to this person," said Ageyo.

Reacting to Citizen TV journalist Joe Ageyo's sentiments about Msando's murder, Akombe noted it stains Kenya's national conscience.

"Powerfully said @JoeAgeyo! 8 August 2017 and the brutal torture and murder of Chris shall forever remain a ‘blot in our collective national conscience," she said.

His murder raised questions with many pointing out fingers towards the government. The government was accused of killing Msando in order to sway the election results.
