John Ndonu and other family members of the late Valerian Njeri have been in tears following the death of their firstborn girl on Thursday. Neighbors and friends have continued entering the family's homestead to offer them support and condolences during this devastating time.
The family denoted that the girl was stabbed more than 20 times and her throat slit after she tried to stop the boy from having his way with her. The police said that the boy lured the girl to take a book to their house before things turned for the worst.
Mr. Ndonu, the father to the girl emotionally denoted that their hope was gone as they would not get a replacement for their lost daughter.
"She was everything a parent wanted in a child. She was obedient and loved education. She wanted to become a doctor and was passionate about it,” the mourning father was quoted by Nation.
Mr. Daniel Gichanga who is the chairman of the 'Nyumba Kumi ' affirmed that during the holidays, the boy used to lend books to Njeri.
"The teenager accosted the victim after she returned one of the books at around midday. After she turned down his advances to get intimate, he turned wild and stabbed her several times,” said Mr. Gichanga.
He also reiterated that on that fateful day he had sent the accused for an errand and the boy displayed no form of remorse or mischief. He said he was pained by what the boy had done.
“I even asked the teenager arrested for the killing to get me a glass of drinking water and he did it without exhibiting any emotions,” said Mr. Gichanga as quoted by Nation
Keneth Njoroge who's the Naivasha DCIO said that the boy is a key suspect in the murder and is in police custody.
