The team got a premier league promotion slot after finishing second during the 2018/2019 National Super League (NSL) season behind champions Wazito FC.

All Stars Team Manager Alfred Adu said they have already set their target ahead of the first season in the Kenyan league.

“Our target is to maintain our league status,” said Adu in an exclusive interview in Kisumu over the weekend.

“We are sure we will remain in KPL at the end of the season. There’s no doubt about that,” he said when hard-pressed to explain how they intend to remain in the league that contains heavyweights such as Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Ulinzi Stars, Tusker FC and Sofapaka among others.

The team has already roped in the services of veteran coach Henry Omino.

“We settled on Omino because we believe his experience and exposure will help the team a great deal. All the coaches who helped the team to book a KPL spot are on the bench assisting Omino,” he said.

The 2019/2020 season kicks off on August 30, 2019.

Kisumu All Stars' first game of the campaign will be on August 31 against Ulinzi Stars at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
