Speaking on Tuesday morning in Gilgil where he witnessed the opening of an examination container, Dr Matiang’i said all measures are in place, to ensure the exams proceed smoothly.

He said his ministry will work closely with the Education Ministry to ensure maximum security is provided during the exercise.

“We will do our best to ensure the exercise is successful. To the security officers assigned these exercises, please do not compromise anything. On this particular one, I want you to act firmly and decisively for the sake of our children” said Matiang’i.

While calling for collective responsibility towards the success of the exercise, the Interior CS reiterated that through coordination with all the regional commissioners, the exercise has no hitch so far.

“We are in coordination with all the Regional Commissioners and I can assure you that all regions are ready with no challenge so far” said Matiang’i.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia who distributed KCPE examinations materials to head teachers in Naivasha.

Today being day one, candidates will sit the mathematics and English papers in the morning, and write English composition in the afternoon.
