The County Government of Kisumu has reportedly honoured popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi by naming a street after him.
Eric Omondi took to Instagram on Tuesday to appreciate the county government for the purported gesture and promised to make the county even more proud of him.
“Thank you so much Kisumu County Government for this GREAT HONOR 😰😰😰...I will forever CHERISH this🙏🙏🙏 I promise to make you even prouder!!! I will endeavour to lift the name of my County Kisumu and Country Kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪 higher and Higher. This is my home, My town, My City, My Country,” Eric Omondi wrote on Instagram.
He also took the opportunity to encourage young people not to give up on their dreams.
“May this be an encouragement to every young person in this country...That it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from, with belief and Hardwork...YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING 🙏🙏🙏🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪 TUPATANE MOI STADIUM KISUMU THIS SATURDAY,” he added.
A section of social media users has argued that the move is a stunt by the comedian to promote his show which will be held in the county on Saturday.
The self-declared President of African Comedy has won the hearts of many through his short parody videos that he usually shares on social media.
