James Amakobe was on Friday arraigned before Kakamega Senior Resident Magistrate Erick Malesi and charged with committing the indecent act on the 13-year-old.

Standard reports that the court heard that the convict committed the act on the standard six boy, identified as CB, at his home in Maloti Village, Lurambi Sub County, on February 3, 2019.

The suspect is said to have directed the boy, who was playing with his friends, to follow him to his house before committing the act, and later released him.

The boy did not have any problems following the convict to his house as he knew him very well, before warning the boy against giving him away.

The matter later reached the boy's school where it was authenticated by his teacher, resulting in the boy's assessment at the Bukura Health Center.

The hospital also issued a P3 form as proof that the boy was indeed assaulted.

The suspect who pleaded with the court for leniency, arguing that he is a first offender and is remorseful for his actions is now facing a sentence of an up to 20 years imprisonment.

Mentioning for the matter has been set for October 11.
