Speaking on Friday, Raila rubbished claims that most of the changes he was pushing for in the BBI did not feature in the final report.

In an exclusive interview with Citizen TV, he termed such allegations baseless, noting that he was not pushing for anything specific.

"They are saying ooh, Raila has been deceived, that he wanted a powerful Prime Minister but they have proposed this other one and now he has been shortchanged (Wanasema eti ooh, Raila amedanganywa, eti alikuwa anataka waziri mkuu wa nguvu sasa imewekwa hii inaonekana amechezewa shere)," Raila said.

He also rubbished claims of eyeing the PM seat, a position he held under the grand coalition government between 2008 and 2013.

He stated that he is not eyeing the position as is being claimed, pointing out that at no point has he shown any interest in any political seat.

"Those are baseless claims. Raila has not stood up to declare interest in any seat. Who said Raila wants to be Prime Minister? (Hiyo ni porojo, hakuna siku yoyote Raila ameamka akasema mimi nataka kiti hii. Nani amesema Raila anataka kuwa waziri mkuu?)," he posed.
