World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge is set to receive an Isuzu Single Cabin worth Sh4.1 million should he breaks the two-hour marathon barrier in the upcoming Vienna Marathon dubbed 'INEOS 1.59 challenge' on October 12.
While confirming the award, Isuzu East Africa managing director Rita Kavasha noted that they were confident Kipchoge will break the record which will go down history as the first marathoner to run under two hours.
Kavasha was speaking as they celebrated a two-year partnership with Kipchoge as their Isuzu brand ambassador on Wednesday during an event in Nairobi.
“Not that we are not putting Kipchoge under pressure, but we know and we are confident that he will achieve the feat and go down in history as the greatest achievement ever. We can only wish this great man best of luck since we have been part of his journey that has been marked with hard working disincline, humility and resilience," she said as quoted by Nation.
Kipchoge who has already being branded as the greatest marathoner of all time was on last year presented with Isuzu Double Cabin going at Sh5.9 million in an event that was held in his hometown, Eldoret.
This is after he set a new world record of 2 hours, 01 minutes and 39 seconds on September 16, 2018, in the Berlin Marathon.
The Olympic Marathon champion had almost broken the under two hours barrier after he only missed 26 seconds during the Nike Breaking2 project on the Monza Formula 1 racetrack near Milan, Italy on May 6, 2017.
