Tottenham Hotspurs has congratulated Victor Wanyama after leading Kenya to victory over Tanzania in the ongoing the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

Spurs congratulated Wanyama after he helped Kenya beat close neighbours Taifa Stars of Tanzania 3-2.

Wanyama captained Harambee Stars for the first win of their 2019 Afcon match played on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt. 

The Eglish Premier League (EPL) side had earlier wished Wanyama luck before the game.

"Congratulations to @VictorWanyama who captained Kenya to a 3-2 victory over Tanzania in yesterday’s #AFCON clash," tweeted Tottenham.

Following the win, Kenya is now level on three points with Senegal but have a weaker goal difference.

Algeria who beat Senegal lead the table with six points and are assured of a place in the last 16. 

Tanzania are last with zero points after defeat in the two games.

Kenya will face Senegal in the last game of the group scheduled to be played on July 1st as from 10.00pm local time.
