ODM party leader Raila Odinga has once again defended his decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raila buried the hatchet with Uhuru last year in March, a move that caught most of their handlers unaware.
In a pre-recorded interview with Citizen TV set to be aired Friday, Raila insisted that his decision to work with Uhuru was informed by the fight against corruption.
The ODM leader further dismissed assertions that he's been working hard to fight Deputy President William Ruto, a front runner in 2022 polls.
“If the war on corruption is a sign that I have joined Jubilee, then I don’t regret…There are some many Kenyans who want to be president come 2022. I don't think there is anybody openly fighting the DP," he said.
Previously, Dr Ruto had questioned the fight against corruption, arguing that it had been politicised to score certain political goals.
“Do not politicise the fight against corruption. The responsibility of fighting corruption has been given to independent institutions by the Constitution,” said Dr Ruto.
While Ruto has already declared interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila has remained silent about 2022.
