Speaking during an interview on Citizen JKL Show on Wednesday, Atwoli said that Museveni has done a good job since he took over power.

He noted that the Ugandan head of state has ensured there is peace in the country.

He also said that Museveni has an excellent performance scoreboard compared to his predecessors.

He urged the people of Uganda to support Museveni before he completes his tenure in office. He also rubbished claims that Museveni has been in power for too long.

He compared Museveni to Angela Merkel, who he said has been in power for decades but no one wants to talk about the same.  He argued that other nations only feel that it is in Africa where leaders cling on power when it is also happening elsewhere.

"I would advise Ugandans to continue supporting Museveni. If a leader is supporting a nation well, and there is peace, let them carry on," he said.

On matters of local politics, Atwoli said that the push for a referendum is unstoppable.

He argued that the winner takes it all system is not good for the nation. Atwoli also hinted at retiring from his current position.
