Deputy President Willima Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto launched a National Prayer Altar at his home in Karen.
Mrs Ruto shared a series of pictures from the event which was attended by various leaders of the clergy.
“My husband the Deputy President and I were blessed to have been joined by Fathers of Faith and key leaders in various mountains of influence during the opening ceremony of our National Prayer Altar at the Official Residence of the Deputy President,” she said through her twitter account.
She added quoting a Bible verse.
“And David built there an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the LORD was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel (2 Samuel 24:25).” she added.
Ruto has been seen on many occasion contributing to churches and attending to church services in various parts of the nation. Some leaders have come out to question his source of the huge church donations he gives.
However, he has always followed his heart in giving to the church.
Ruto's move to open a place to worship God in his home has attracted mixed reactions online.
