President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday hosted Guinea Bissau President-Elect Umaro Cissoko Embalo at State House in Mombasa. The two leaders agreed to work together with the aim of deepening the bilateral ties the two nations share.
“The leaders singled out exchange of students and teachers, collaboration in technical training, trade and security as some of the key areas of focus in bolstering cooperation between Kenya and Guinea Bissau,” State House posted.
Uhuru also hailed the President-Elect after he scooped major victory in the last general elections. The Head of State said that the victory is critical when it comes to uniting the people of Guinea Bissau.
“The two leaders also resolved to work together and play an active role in bridging the gap between East and West Africa through enhanced people-to-people interactions so as to boost continental integration efforts, “State House added.
Embalo also hailed President Kenyatta over his effort to ensure Africa is united in different fronts. He noted that Uhuru deserves credit because of his relentless effort to transform lives of millions of people.
Sports CS Amina Mohamed was among those present during the meeting.
Embalo invited the President as the Chief Guest during his inauguration. Kenya and Guinea Bissau have been partnering in different areas including trade among others.
