Uasin Gishu County Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei has called it quits after 26 years in marriage with Sam Shollei.
This is after a court ordered the dissolution of their marriage citing differences between them that cannot be worked out.
The two exchanged their vows at St Francis Church in Karen on the December 10, 1994.
The duo have been living separately since 2016.
Sam claims that their marriage was not working and there were minimal chances of saving it thus the need to file for divorce.
Although Gladys was absent during the court proceedings, no objection was recorded and the court moved forward with the case and finally made a ruling.
"It is my considered view its highly unlikely that they will get back together and perform spousal duties as envisaged by the law and vows they took when they got married. It is only fair that their relationship be terminated and parties allowed to move on with their lives. I allow the petition and order the marriage be dissolved forthwith,” the magistrate ruled.
The court also barred Sam from accessing some of their properties in Eldoret and their home in Kitisuru after Gladys said that he has violent tendencies.
In his defence, Sam said he has been supportive of his family all through contrary to what Gladys has always said.
