Police officers in Nakuru county are probing an incident where over 50 students were reportedly busted watching pornographic content, while smoking bhang.
The officers stormed one of the premises in town after a tip-off from the public.
Reports indicate that the students who are from different schools, were on their way home, for their second term closure, before they were arrested.
Nakuru Town East enforcement officer James Kinanga confirmed the arrest, adding that the students were nabbed after a swift operation.
"Enforcement officers went to the building and rounded up students dressed in uniforms smoking bhang and watching pornography,” said Kinanga as quoted by Standard.
Reports on Standard indicate that the police also nabbed operators at the play station station where the students were caught watching pornography.
According to Kinanga, investigations have commenced, and the students will be arraigned in court soon.
County Education Director Dr William Sugut condemned the incident, adding that the Ministry of Education is working with relevant authorities to curb issues of crime among students.
"We are working together with the police to take action against those involved more so during the August holiday,” he said as quoted by Standard.
