Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has said that he will not sack Sports and Youth CeC Karungo Wa Thang'wa, days after the county assembly ousted him.
Kiambu MCAs last week adopted Thang'wa's ouster report, accusing him of abuse of office and incompetence, in a report that was read by Peter Karuga (Limuru East).
The governor, who is battling over corruption charges on Thursday said that the CeC should remain and continue discharging his official duties.
In a statement addressed to the County Speaker, he said that by dismissing Thang'wa, he will be disobeying a November 8 court order, which barred him from implementing the impeachment.
"Any disobedience or non-observance of the order of the court given on November 7, 2019, served will result in penal consequences to you(petitioner) and any other persons so disobeying and not observing the same," read the court order.
The court order came after Thang'wa's appearance before a five-member committee formed to investigate him in October after he requested for a platform to defend himself.
However, he walked out of the sitting when the committee refused to furnish him with the particulars of his charges, and proceeded to court to stop his ouster plans.
He has blamed his woes on a political witch hunt, claiming that he is being used to settle political scores.
