A group of politicians allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have promised fireworks against DP William Ruto in the unsettled Mt Kenya region.
For months now, the region is hugely divided with a section of politicians throwing their weight behind DP William Ruto, who is keen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The DP has made numerous trips to Nyeri, Kiambu, Murang'a, Kirinyaga and Nyandarua, with a number of legislators backing his bid.
But MPs allied to Kieleweke team have accused him of violence, citing Sunday's case where Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro reportedly disrupted their meeting.
"We know you. Even what happened today, you were behind it. We shall smoke you out of Mt Kenya. We will not deal with your messengers because you often send them an pretend," said former MP Dennis Waweru.
"We were peaceful today and he sent Ndindi Nyoro to disrupt our function. He thinks he has monopoly to violence. We shall block him everywhere in Central Kenya," added Maina Kamanda.
The team accused Dr Ruto of disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta, adding that his approach will backfire very soon. They vowed to teach him a lesson.
Just few meters from where Kieleweke team had a function disrupted by Nyoro, Dr Ruto intensified his onslaught against Raila Odinga.
He insisted that the country does not need changes in law, adding that Mr Odinga should come out and indicate what he exactly wants to be changed.
“Let the former Prime Minister be sincere and walk to the BBI secretariat and point out the specific clauses which he thinks should be amended for him to concede defeat in 2022,” Ruto said.
