Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Soy counterpart Caleb Kositany will play a crucial role in ensuring Deputy President William Ruto becomes president in 2022.
The trio has been vocal in regional as well as national politics.
The fact that they fairly won their respective seats in 2017 general elections implies that they command a substantial following. The critical mass of voters who voted for them is essential for the DP to realise his ambitions since every vote will count in 2022.
Kapseret lawmaker has been a renowned footsoldier of the Deputy President. He has been in the forefront, defending him fiercely from critics who try to bring him (William Ruto) down.
Sudi has never spared anybody who plotted to dim DP's rising star or derail his ambitions, including President Uhuru Kenyatta.Link
Mandago on his part has been on record claiming that the DP would triumph in 2022 presidential elections.
He dismissed the notion that the Kikuyu community would not support Ruto's 2022 ambitions.
Mandago is thought to be a young, influential and energetic politician by the locals and some leaders. That was why some called on him to consider running for senate in the next election in order to use his gubernatorial experience to make policies that strengthen devolution and further the community's political agenda on a national platform.
Soy lawmaker Caleb Kositany is another ardent defender of the DP.
On several occasions, he has been seen accompanying the DP on a countrywide tour. He has also been seen a number of times in the company of leaders allied to Ruto, where they always pass a similar message, regarding their political position to Kenyans wherever they go.
Kositany has been alleged to be secretly aiming at succeeding Mandago and is, therefore, hoping to ride on the DP's back in order to succeed so he will have no option but to campaign for Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
