Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa has assured residents of heightened security during the festive season.

He says measures have been put in place to ensure that the security of residents is guaranteed and that of their property when they are away.

“We have deployed more police officers and recalled those who were on leave to ensure that the lives of residents are guaranteed and also their properties are safe,” Jaldesa said on Wednesday in Eldoret. 

He reiterated that the police will carry out regular patrols in areas that are prone to insecurity and areas where there are increased cases of illegal alcohol intake.

He warned gangsters terrorising residents during this festive season saying that their days are numbered and will face the full face of the law.

“I also call upon residents to ensure that they inform their neighbours or caretaker when they travel to upcountry this will help to ensure that their houses and property are secure to avoid being broken into,” added the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner.

He further urged the residents to embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative.
