An American man has died after proposing underwater to his girlfriend.
According to CNN affiliate, WBRZ, Steven Kesha and his girlfriend, Kenasha Antonie was staying in Pemba island located in the Indian Ocean.
The two lived in a two-bedroom cabin that was perfectly designed with the bedroom submerged beneath the ocean surface.
Relevant footage captures Mr Weber diving in the depths of the Indian ocean in a romantic bid to ask Ms Antoine to marry him. In the footage, Mr Weber, pressed a handwritten note against the window as his girlfriend filmed the whole event from the inside.
The man had placed the note inside a transparent polythene paper and it was romantically weaved to read; "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. BUT...Everything I love about you I love more EVERY DAY!"Will you please be my WIFE," the note continued. "Marry me???"
However, Weber never made it out of the depths.
Ms Antonia took to social media where she confirmed his death by saying; "You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, 'Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!"
Speaking to BBC, the Manta Resort said that Mr Weber was met with the hard-luck "while free diving alone outside the underwater room."
The tragedy which left many in awe took place on the afternoon of Thursday after Mr Weber failed to make it to the surface after presenting his proposal note.
"We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruellest twist of fate imaginable," Antoine emotionally continued, in her Facebook post quoted by BBC.
The US Department of State informed the public that the information of the US citizen's death had reached them, however, they didn't give any further details.
