Speaking on Sunday Murathe lauded the African Union Infrastructure Development envoy as a focused man fully committed to delivering in line with his new roles, since his 2018 appointment.

He hailed Raila as a statesman who is crisscrossing the continent in the spirit of bettering it as per the dictates of his responsibilities.

He proceeded to express his liking for the former Prime Minister.

"I like Raila, Raila is busy, actually, acting like a statesman. You saw him this week with African ministers for infrastructure. You saw him in Russia, he is actually doing his job about the connectivity of the continent," he said.

He was speaking on K24's Punchline on Sunday night, where he also noted with great admiration that Raila has proven his worth by avoiding the ongoing 'dirty' politicking in the nation.

"He is also beyond this local chafu (dirty) politics," he added.

Murathe, a former MP for Gatanga, also hailed all the remaining leading politicians excluding Deputy President William Ruto, who he has not been in good terms with since late last year.

He praised Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka, his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi and KANU chief Gideon Moi as focused leaders.

His wars with Ruto began in late December last year when he cautioned the DP against expecting an automatic backing of the Central Kenya region in his (Ruto) 2022 presidential bid.

He has also repeatedly vowed to block Ruto's presidency at all costs, including going to court or engineering a massive walkout from the Jubilee Party.
