Dennis Rosana, the traders association chairperson while speaking on Saturday at the market commended CS Matiang'i for the good work he has done to improve security at the market.

"Security in the market is tight because police officers have intensified security patrols especially at night. We are happy that Matiang'i heard our insecurity cries and ordered police officers to beef up security in the market," said Rosana.

Rosana, argued that cases of motorbike theft and theft of vegetables such as cabbages in the market at night have gone down to zero.

He urged police officers not to return to their comfort zone noting that the crackdown on illicit liquor which spurred theft at the market has since been tackled.

"Illicit liquor business which was the main cause of criminal activities in the market has gone down. We hope that security officers will not look back again," he added.

Rosana challenged the county government of Nyamira to install street lights in the market to enable traders to operate for 24 hours.
