A Nairobi man is in trouble after he allegedly abused a woman calling her dirty.
The suspect, David Kigoma Onguyi was on Tuesday arraigned at Milimani Law Courts and charged for verbally abusing a businesswoman at Maasai Market in Nairobi County.
He was charged with creating a disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace, K24 reports.
According to the prosecution, the suspect on Sunday insulated the businesswoman, only identified as Nyaboke, that she was unhygienic'.
The man also allegedly said Nyaboke, who runs a Maasai curio shop in the market, was not wearing necessary female attires and that she was a dirty woman.
“You are dirty, and I know that you do not wear underwear. And, even if you have worn one today, I am sure it is torn. And again, remember to use tissue paper to wipe yourself clean after answering the short call of nature. (Wewe ni mchafu, na hauna suruali. Na kama uko nayo, najua imetoboka. Kisha, tafuta tissue utumie kujipanguza ukienda kukojoa),” Onguyi allegedly verbally attacked Nyaboke as quoted by K24.
The court was told that the suspect launched verbal attacks on the woman after he was asked to clear a debt of Sh500.
Nyaboke reported the matter to KICC Police Station before the suspect was arrested.
The man, however, denied charges when he appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Mothoni Nzibe.
He was released on Sh10,000 cash bail and the case will be heard again on January 21, 2020.
