The taxi operators have decried among others, lack of open shades, which subjects them to harsh weather conditions in their waiting terminuses.

They claim that the county government has also failed to improve infrastructure, which is affecting their daily operations and making it hard to pay taxes.

“To boost the county’s revenue through taxes, we must be able to operate in a conducive environment that promote our businesses,” they said through their Chair George Omondi Oketch.

Speaking on Friday, Oketch also lamented of lack of latrines and bad roads, which they say is subjecting them to extra operation costs through frequent motorbike repairs.

He added that this also makes it hard for those of them who bought their motorcycles on loans, and now want the county government to heed their calls and intervene.

“Diversion to rough roads has cost us dearly. We need smooth roads that would cushion us from frequent repair of our motorbikes,” he added.

He said that the same goes to the national government, noting that the requested services will make it possible to offer better services to the business community in the area.
