A boda boda rider and his passenger were on Friday evening arrested at a road block near Nyaronde area in Borabu along Kijauri – Sotik road for being in possession of 80 kilograms of bhang.
Area police boss Timothy Mwasia confirmed the incident and said the suspects refused to stop at the road block to be inspected prompting police officers to arrest them.
“Police officers got furious when a boda boda rider tried to defy orders to stop for inspection. When a luggage was inspected the officers realized that it was bhang that was on transportation,” said the police boss.
He assured that the two suspects will be arraigned in court ton Monday to be charged for being in possession of bhang.
“We will prepare charge sheets over the weekend to arraign the suspects in court. Drug peddlers and illicit brew dealers will not be spared by the law. Anyone engaging in dubious business must face the law,” said Mwasi.
