2 bars in Kamwangi town have been indefinitely closed after they were found operating after the Mututho hours. One of the bars identified as Maringo live bar was also found selling alcohol to a 16 year old boy.
Speaking after the closure, area sub county commisioner Daniel Nyamiti revealed that they had revoked the licenses used by the operators.
"We have arrested 5 bar maids, one man and a 16 year old who was on a drinking spree at Maringo. We have revoked the licenses of the two bars until they are charged for their crimes," he said.
Nyamiti warned that his office would not give space for youngsters to destroy their lives through alcohol.
"Parents should take caution and watch their children over the holiday. I will play my part and i also expect every one else to take their responsibility seriously to avert such situations," he added.
He observed that parents should be in the frontline of exposing the dangers of alcohol use to their children.
