An accident that happened in Bomet county has claimed the lives of two by the time the incident was reported.
The accident happened on Friday at around 2 p.m at Kamureito.
Kamureito is a long Bomet-Kaplong road in Bomet county.
Sources indicated that the accident had involved a matatu and a salon car resulting in the death of two people.
Several others were also reported to have been injured in the accident that happened at around 2 p.m.
The cause of the grisly road accident could not, however, be ascertained by then.
Traffic police in the area were also not in a position to determine the real cause of the road accident.
The injured had to be rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment as the deceased were taken to the mortuary.
Road accidents have declined greatly compared to the number of accidents that occurred towards the end of last year.
Last year saw a huge number of deadly accidents recorded particularly on Rift Valley roads.
Most of the accidents occurred along the Salgaa-Sachang'wan stretch resulting in several deaths.
One unforgettable is the Modern Coast that collided with a track at Salgaa resulting in the death of around 36 passengers on board.
Many theories were used including superstitions to bring out the actual cause of the prevalent road accidents.
However, those have since been forgotten and many would agree the accidents were rather caused by carelessness that comes with the rush experienced during the festive season.
