[A road accident sign. Photo/Standard]Two people on Wednesday evening died in separate accidents in Nyamira County, police have confirmed.
In the first accident at Metobo area along Nyamira – Center road, a man died after a motorbike collided with a PSV matatu at around 6 pm.
Witnesses said the motorbike rider was speeding when the accident occurred.
In the second accident in Ekerenyo area along the Nyamira – Kericho highway, a speeding matatu hit a motorcycle from behind and killed the rider on spot.
The driver of the matatu speed off from the scene after the incident.
Boda boda riders who arrived at the scene said soon they will hold protests because matatu drivers have been targeting them on roads.
“We are also entitled to use the roads but we are the target to drivers. We will soon show them that we are also protected by the law if they don’t respect us,” said Milton Obonyo.
