It is alleged that the police truck lost control before ramming into an oncoming trailer that was also at high speed.

According to eyewitnesses, the police truck driver was overtaking and the driver was unable to control the truck when he noticed the oncoming tailer.

"The GSU driver was overtaking other vehicles in very high speed not aware of the oncoming trailer. Personally, I was forced to sway off the road plunging into a ditch to avoid being hit," Jackson Njenga said.

Salgaa traffic boss Walter Kiptala confirmed the accident saying that the two had been moved to the Nakuru County  hospital with the injured being taken to Nakuru Level 5 hospital.

"This is a black spot and all drivers are advised to be very cautious just to be safe and preserve life," he said.
