Kenyans have been urged to ignore calls by the opposition for an economic boycott and Coast region secession.

The calls, according to Jubilee leaders, are due to desperation after pulling out of the presidential race.

Addressing the press, MPs Vincent Tuwei (Mosop) and his Soy counterpart Caleb Kositany said NASA leadership is frustrated after making 'grave mistake' ahead of repeat presidential election.

"The move by the Opposition leaders to call on their people to boycott products as a way to punish or force the Jubilee Party onto their ideals is unacceptable," said Tuwei, as quoted by The Standard.

This comes after NASA leaders called on their supporters to abandon services and products offered by Bidco Africa, Safaricom and Brookside Diaries.

The leaders vowed to name more companies which they claim are major beneficiaries of 'illegitimate' Jubilee regime.

Kositany said the boycott move is extortion adding that the leaders were misleading their supporters.

The MP urged NASA to drop the call and join the ruling party in moving the country forward.

"They should just join Jubilee administration because it is clear they are out of options on how to take over leadership," Kositany remarked.

The politicians also said calls for secession by Coast leaders led by governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and Amason Kingi (Kilifi) would not be possible.

"Secession over the alleged marginalisation will fall flat. There are no laws that govern such a move," they said.

The two Jubilee Party legislators were speaking in Eldoret Town, Saturday.
