Police officers in Matungulu sub-county in Machakos on Thursday arrested two men suspected to be involved in livestock theft in the area.

Area OCPD Joshua Lutukal said the two men travelling in a Toyota Probox were arrested near Tala town at around 8 am following a tip off from the public.

"Members of the public notified the police who acted immediately. Upon inspecting the car they two were travelling in, police found parts of a dead cow and a calf and arrested them," said the OCPD.

Lutukal thanked members of the public for giving such crucial information to the police.

"I am pleased with the members of the public. I urge locals to work closely with the officers to end such crimes in the area. Any suspect should be reported to the police for legal actions to be taken," he added.

He said the two suspects will be arraigned in court once police complete investigations.

"The suspected thieves will be arraigned to face theft charges once officers are done with investigations," he said.
