Two robbers were stoned to death early on Friday by an angry mob in Maili Saba, Bahati within Nakuru County.
Area police boss Edward Masibo confirmed the incident and said the thieves broke into a house of a man and stole household items valued over Sh200,000.
Masibo noted the criminals armed with crude weapons, attacked a guard aged 50 and a farm caretaker, robbed them their mobile phones.
The police boss said the gangs seriously injured the guard and the farm caretaker.
The robbers searched the house, stole Sh20,000, four ATM cards, a flat-screen TV, a laptop, a computer desktop and other household items.Neighbours alerted the police who arrived and fired in the air forcing the criminals to seek refuge in a maize plantation.
Police started a search using sniffer dogs together with residents.
They traced the gangs to Kinoru farm and this is when an angry mob stoned them to death.
The 2 people who were injured by the thieves were rushed to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital for treatment.
The robbers' bodies were taken to Nakuru County mortuary.
