Former TNA member and runner up in 2013 Kisii gubernatorial race Patrick Lumumba led more than a hundred ex-Jubilee members to Wiper on Monday, October 24.
The defectors were received at St Vincent Pastoral Centre by Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is in Kisii for a tour popularising his party.
Speaking after switching sides, Lumumba said he has learned from his past mistakes and pleaded with the Cord co-principal not to forget him when nominations begin.
He insisted that the people of the county wanted to remain in Cord, but were tired of the administration.
The lawyer accused the incumbent governor James Ongwae of leading to a mass exit of the region's constituents to Jubilee since he has failed to deliver.
"Our people are disillusioned with the county government due to runaway graft and procurement scandals such as the thermos flask fiasco," he said.
