Police officers on Saturday seized over 2, 000 liters of illicit brew suspected to be from Uganda in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County.
Police said the liquor was packed in 250ml bottles and was hidden in a house at Kahoya estate.
Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga confirmed the incident and said police acted after a tip-off from locals.
“Members of the public alerted the police who acted immediately and recovered illicit brew hidden in the house. The owner of the house was arrested and he is helping police with investigations to arrest more others,” he said.
Mutunga assured that police will not rest until illicit brew dealers, makers, and sellers end in Uasin Gishu County.
“Illicit brew business must come to an end in Uasin Gishu County to save the lives of youths who have been affected most. Traders engaging in the illegal business should find alternative businesses to do,” he added.
