Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has called all stakeholders involved in awarding bursaries in county to be fair while on the exercise.
Speaking on Monday at Growel Koitebes Primary School after commissioning an ultra-modern and model county-funded ECDE, he noted that the involved stakeholders were not honest in the exercise.
"We have not been honest in the distribution of these bursaries yet we deny children as orphans and children from needy families who really deserve,"noted the County boss as recorded in Uasin Gishu County Government official Facebook Page.
He urged the parents who have been using unfair means to obtain the funds to stop it so that they cannot disadvantage others.
"A parent who can afford fee but lobbies and gets bursary is denying justice to that orphan whose future is uncertain owing to this shortchanging,"the county boss noted.
Mandago further urged the residents in his area to ensure all children are taken to school adding that this was the best way to invest.
"If there's an investment that will never go wrong is ensuring that our children go to school all the way to universities,"the county chief added.
He called on the parents to ensure they oversee the progress of their children in school.
