Criminal gangs in Nakuru town and its environments that have been terrorizing taxi and bodaboda operators camouflaging as commuters have been put on notice.
Nakuru County Commissioner Erastus Mbui has also warned youths against making crime as an alternative job saying that there is a lot of emerging companies within Nakuru where they can seek jobs.
Speaking at Kapkures grounds during this year's Jamhuri Day celebrations, the County Commissioner ordered Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu to ensure there is a massive deployment of uniformed and non-uniformed police officers during and after the festive season.
"We will not allow criminal gangs in this county and I hereby order the County Police commander to ensure serious patrols during and after the festive season," he said.
On his side, Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu has urged locals to embrace community policing and giving tip-off on the whereabouts of the criminal gangs.
He says this will enable swift act whenever they are notified.
Moreover, Matu said no police officer within Nakuru County will break for the festive holidays to ensure 24 hours police patrols are managed and security status within Nakuru town and its environs is restored to its default and create a conducive environment for all.
"None of us is going on holidays. We will be in Nakuru and on duty," noted the police boss.
The calls by the security agents have been embraced by Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui who has promised that the county Government will work hand in hand to ensure visitors who will also come to Nakuru for tourism and other purposes will enjoy their holiday.
These calls come amid concerns that had been raised against terrorizing groups in Nakuru.
