Deputy President William Ruto has urged newly inducted diplomats and high commissioners to market Kenya well abroad.
Speaking on Monday in Nairobi, the DP said that the diplomats had a duty of counteracting the negative propaganda about being spread Kenya by ensuring that the positive aspects of the country are given light abroad.
He said that Kenya was open for business and that that message should reach prospective investors all over the world, hailing the country's beauty, wildlife, and its hardworking citizens.
"Your primary message should be that Kenya is open to business and that our credentials are visible to all. The fruits of our land, the magnificence of our shores, the majesty of our wildlife and the industry and innovation of our people, " the deputy president said.
The country's second in command noted that the story of Kenya must be told by Kenyans themselves.
All the ambassadors have been charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the country's agenda is advanced abroad.
Their appointment had to be vetted by parliament to ensure that they had the credentials and that they met the constitutional to do their respective jobs.
Kenyan diplomats abroad help improve the relationship between Kenya and other country's.
They also respond to diplomatic concerns on behalf of Kenya when they arise.
