Kenyan social media users have condemned the suspected Al Shabaab attack on a joint US-Kenya army base in Lamu, which took place on Sunday morning.
Kenyans on Twitter called for unity among Kenyans after the attack adding that it was fortunate that no casualties were reported on the Kenya Defence Forces' side.
The netizens further went ahead to commend efforts by KDF military officers to retaliate and in the process, kill four of the terrorists.
They, however, called upon the authorities to intensify security across the country so as to ensure the citizens are safe from the terrorists.
The cyber-citizens nonetheless, expressed their worry citing that this was not the first time that the terror group was launching an attack on the country.
The attack comes only two days since suspected Al Shabaab terrorists attacked a bus in Lamu, killing three civilians and injuring three others.
A section of the netizens noted that the recent attacks, may be a sign of more attacks to come in the year and advised the government to put precautionary measures in place to avert loss of lives.
The government on Saturday through its spokesman Cyrus Oguna, claimed security in Lamu had been boosted following the bus attack.
