The Ekalakala MCA was on Tuesday speaking in the parliament proceedings while presenting the 2014/15 budget report.

We had budgeted for Sh9.2 billion but what we got from the government was Sh7 billion so some projects were left hanging.

The amount promised by the national government was fully given, but the portion from the county government was not collected as expected," stated Muinde.

Muinde further stated that the county government revenue expected was Sh2.7 billion but instead collected Sh1.32 billion.

"We are therefore highlighting on the amount of funds we managed to collect and the projects we completed and as a result help plan to prioritize the projects that remained pending," he added.

The members of county assembly have called upon the county government to supervise and ensure better tax collection in the current 2015/2016 financial year.
