Former 2013 presidential aspirant Prof James Ole Kiyiapi has accused the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), of perpetrating frequent industrial action by workers.
This follows a countrywide doctors' strike that kicked off December 5, 2016, as the medics demanded a 300 per cent salary increment.
The University of Eldoret (UoE) lecturer said the Sarah Serem-led Commission had failed to harmonise and control public wage bill.
According to him, SRC's core mandate is to ensure the wage bill is equalised, yet nothing had been done about the same.
"Frequent labour disputes in the country are caused by failure by SRC to harmonize and control public wage bill, its basic core mandate!'' said the former Education Principal Secretary, Wednesday.
The former Restore and Build Kenya Party presidential aspirant also announced his bid to vie for a political seat in the August 8, polls.
