These are candidates who despite coming from region perceived as Jubilee, ODM and by extension NASA strongholds they have managed to weather the political wave and won with considerable margins.
In Kisumu West incumbent MP Olago Aluoch overcame the ODM wave and defended his seat on a Ford-Kenya ticket, his Kisumu East counterpart Shakeel Shabir has also won on an independent ticket despite the spirited efforts from the orange side of life.
Similar political revolutions have been witnessed in Ainabkoi constituency where, former personal assistant to the late Keiyo South MP Nicholas Biwott, Mr William Chepkut won the seat on an independent ticket, in the process trampling on Jubilee's Samuel Chepkonga.
In Embakasi South, Wipers Julius Mawathe, reigned over incumbent ODM MP Irshad Sumra.
In Thika town, businessman Patrick Wainaina floored Jubilee candidate Alice Ng'ang'a with over 8,000 votes.
Not to forget, Nyali constituency in Mombasa county where former journalist Mohamed Ali took the seat despite massive ODM presence in the county.
Machakos has also witnessed more of a battle between incumbent governor Alfred Mutua against NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka. Mutua floored Wiper's Wavinya Ndeti.
